Switzerland Walking Tour in 4k - LAUTERBRUNNEN

A walking tour in one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, and perhaps even in the world. Here is Lauterbrunnen, a village located in the canton of Bern, in the administrative region of Oberland, in the Lauterbrunnental valley, where the Swiss Prealps meet the Bernese Alps. From over 200-meter-high vertical cliffs, as many as 72 waterfalls cascade down into the valley and onto the village of Lauterbrunnen, hidden in their shadow. The valley is also one of the deepest in the Alps. Towering over the landscape are the peaks of the Bernese Alps, the most famous of which are Jungfrau (4,158 m), Mönch (4,107 m), Eiger (3,970 m), Breithorn (3,780 m), and Schilthorn (2,970 m). It is worth mentioning that this valley was likely the inspiration for Rivendell, the legendary valley appearing in The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The village of Lauterbrunnen itself is located in the valley at an altitude of approximately 795 meters above sea level and has 2,315 permanent residents. The most recognizable landmark of the village is the Staubbach Waterfall, which is nearly 300 meters high, making it the second-highest waterfall in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen features spacious camping grounds, a cemetery with a view of the Staubbach Waterfall, a Reformed church dating back to 1832, and a railway station. In this walking tour, we will walk through the entire village, starting from the southern part and ending in the northern part near the train station. Switzerland Walking Tour in 4k - GANDRIA

A walking tour recorded at the end of August in the incredibly picturesque small village of Gandria, Switzerland, located in the Ticino canton on a steep hillside at the foot of Monte Brè and on the shore of Lake Lugano. This place, unchanged for around 100 years, exudes a pervasive nostalgia, featuring winding alleys, steep staircases, walled courtyards, and arcades. The village has a ban on car traffic, meaning one can only reach its outskirts— all to preserve the historic character of its many buildings.

Gandria is both a part of the city of Lugano and an independent village on the northern shore of Lake Lugano, situated right on the Italian border. It has a permanent population of about 275 residents. Despite being located in the Alps, the village is home to Mediterranean vegetation, including palm trees, olive trees, and beautifully blooming oleanders. We begin our walking tour on the pedestrian road Via Nosera, passing through small gardens with olive trees and a view of the lake. Then, we will descend to Via Reccord and head toward the historic center at Piazza A. Giambonini, where we will visit the Church of San Vigilio (Chiesa di San Vigilio), dating back to the 13th century. Later, we will wander through the winding streets of Gandria onto the Sentiero Di Gandria, a scenic path connecting the village with the city of Lugano. In the second part of the video, we will return to the village center and explore its charming narrow streets. Enjoy watching the walking tour in 4K Ultra HD quality with captions!

Switzerland Walking Tour in 4k - ZERMATT

This walking tour was recorded at the end of August in one of the most recognizable and famous towns in southern SwitzerlandZermatt, located in the canton of Valais. The town lies in the upper part of the Mattertal valley, on the Mattervispa river, in the Pennine Alps, at an altitude of 1,608 meters above sea level. It is the southernmost ski resort at the foot of the highest peaks of the Swiss Alps. Zermatt is most commonly associated with the Matterhorn (4,478 m), arguably the most famous mountain in the world. In the vicinity of the town, there are as many as 38 mountain peaks over 4,000 meters high. Some of the most well-known include Dufourspitze (4,634 m), Dom (4,545 m), Liskamm (4,527 m), Weisshorn (4,506 m), and the Matterhorn (4,478 m). These peaks are surrounded by massive glaciers such as the Gorner Glacier — the second-largest glacier in the Alps — as well as the Findel Glacier and Zmutt Glacier. Zermatt is one of only nine places in Switzerland where combustion-engine vehicles are banned. Only light electric vehicles used for transporting goods or people, as well as horse-drawn carriages, are permitted — making the town exceptionally quiet with crisp, clean Alpine air. On Bahnhofstrasse, you’ll find many cafés, restaurants, shops, and souvenir stands. There are also over 100 hotels and many holiday chalets. As of 2021, only 5,746 people live in Zermatt permanently. We begin the walking tour on Zen Steckenstrasse, which offers a view of the Matterhorn (4,478 m). We’ll then walk along Oberdorfstrasse toward the town center, where we’ll see the Parish Church of St. Mauritius (Pfarrkirche St. Mauritius), the Matterhorn Museum, and the 5-star Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. Finally, we head down Bahnhofstrasse toward the train station, where the walk ends. Enjoy watching the walking tour in 4K Ultra HD quality with captions here:
