Croatia Walking Tour in 4k - MLINI

A walking tour through one of the most picturesque towns, Mlini, located between Dubrovnik and Cavtat. Mlini offers direct access to the sea and is home to the small Zavrelje River, featuring shallow, pebbled beaches, sheltered coves, flower-filled gardens, and scenic paths lined with hotels, rivers, and historic summer residences. Like Srebreno, which is in close proximity, Mlini is situated about 12 kilometers southeast of Dubrovnik in a beautiful bay, with mountains to the north that also form the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mlini was an ancient settlement historically known as Molina, which primarily engaged in milling. The village earned its name from the numerous springs that powered these mills, although only one of the original mills remains today. In the 15th century, Mlini was notable as a key source of water for Dubrovnik before a proper water system was constructed; during the dry summer months, water was transported from here to the city. The village is also home to the Church of St. Hilarion (crkva sv. Ilara) with its adjacent cemetery, dating back to the 12th century. Today, Mlini has transformed into a popular tourist destination with a rich historical and cultural heritage stretching back to ancient times. It boasts beautiful, sunlit, pebbled beaches with crystal-clear water. This tranquil and serene spot is ideal for those who prefer destinations that are off the beaten path, yet it remains conveniently close to the major resorts in the area. Mlini is also exceptionally well-connected, making travel to Dubrovnik, Cavtat, and even the Elaphite Islands easy and accessible.
